Starlite Far East (07/10)

Jul 10, 2019

After a month of fasting over the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims are ready to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Eid al-Fitr) with full of joy and excitement.

During the Hari Raya, female Muslims dressed up with a series of traditional costume such as Baju Kurung (traditional Malay dress), Baju Kebaya(traditional blouse-dress) and Jubah (long one-piece dress), while typical male Muslims will wear Songkok (traditional hat) and Baju Melayu (traditional man’s wear). All of them will visit each other at this occasion and show their hospitability by preparing a feast of local Malay food. Same as Chinese, Muslims will give “green packet” to the guest who visit their house based on the Islamic concept of ‘zakat’. It is a form of almsgiving treated in Islam.

In conjunction with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidifiltri, Starlite Malaysia organized Hari Raya buffet on 5th of July with all the staffs. We prepared various type of Malay local food like Nasi Briyani, Red Chili Sauce Chicken, and some traditional Malay desserts.

All the staffs were invited to join the buffet and they lined up in sequence to get their food from Mr. Randy (General Manager), Joanna (AGM) and also other colleagues. Besides, we have also prepared the tables and chairs for staffs to sit down and enjoy their lunch under the shade. Everyone was enjoy the food and had the chance to chit chat with each other as they were happy to meet new colleagues and friends, some of them even taking photo together.

Last but not least, we have to thanks the committees who prepared this luncheon and we are looking forward for the next celebration.
